Supporting more than just ICT

Over the years Turn IT On has been proud to support many charitable endeavours organised by the schools we support. We get huge satisfaction from knowing we can contribute to causes that are important to our schools. Here is what has been happening lately and how we have been involved:

OakFest 2016 Music and Beer Festival

We sponsored a barrel of beer at the event (it’s important everyone stays hydrated!) and the money raised went to Oakley C of E Combined School to help them make improvements to the school building. A great day was had by all at the event and we look forward to hearing the total amount raised!

Watlington Primary School Grand Charity Ball

WatlingtonLast year School Business Manager at Watlington Primary School, Jane Fowler, travelled to Tanzania with the charity Tamiha and volunteered at an orphanage and day care centre for children. At the age of eight children at the day care centre graduate to a local school called St Vivien’s. Since returning to the UK Jane has discovered that there is currently no running water to St Vivien’s school or its local village. Water is delivered once a month by donkey and cart in plastic containers which are emptied into a holding tank and each child is allotted seven litres per school day. Watlington Primary School are now raising funds to install a bore hole and pipes that will give the school and local village running water for life. Turn IT On have contributed to the school’s target by sponsoring a table at the charity ball on 2nd July for this great cause.

Chapel End Junior Academy coding trip to Bletchley Park
chapel endThis term Chapel End Junior Academy are looking to to take some Computer Science students on a trip to Bletchley Park where they will be able to partake in hands-on workshops linked to the history of the park that utilise their coding knowledge. We hope the pupils have a wonderful time and look forward to hearing all about it.

If your school has an upcoming charity event, a school trip that your looking for donations towards or a project that needs sponsors speak to your Turn IT On consultant and we will strive to offer our support as best we can.
