Frequently Asked Questions ...

What is the standard contract that Turn IT On! would have with a school?
Turn IT On support is all delivered on site as a series of regular and friendly visits. Our support model is designed to be proactive not reactive.

How often will you visit the school?
It depends on what you want to achieve. We aim to visit schools from half a day per week or half a day per fortnight. We hope that we can quickly get rid of technical issues and then using our teaching expertise help you to move ICT in the direction you want it to go.

Do we always have the same consultant?
For our schools with regular support contracts, it is always the same person on the same day of the week. We want your school to know who is coming and when they are coming. We want our consultants to get to know the school and the staff members as quickly as possible.

What about an emergency?
We'll come out to your school as quickly as we can at no extra cost. We know that when a server goes down or the internet stops working you need someone there urgently. We make sure we never overstretch ourselves so we can respond to these calls. In addition due to the number of consultants we now have, it is quite likely that someone is just around the corner!

Will you teach the children?
Yes if that is what required. Quite often we find team teaching a very powerful tool. For example if you are wanting to teach with a new piece of software we can work with you before the lesson and then deliver the input of the lesson to re-inforce the earlier meeting.

How much does it cost?
It depends - prices start from £899 per year, but it really depends on what you want to achieve with ICT at your school. Just drop us an email and we'll let you know.

Can you save us money?
Yes, because Turn IT On! is independent of computer manufacturers and we are not reliant on selling computers, servers, networks or software. Therefore we can ensure that you get the computer equipment you need and at the right price - instead of 'earning commission', we guarantee to pass on any savings we make to our schools. In many schools our independent advice and negotiation has lead to savings worth more than the cost of our support for the entire year.

We're based in Newcastle, can you support us?
Yes and no. Our online software training tool iTeachers is available and highly effective. However we do not offer technical support in that area yet. Since 2003 Turn IT On! has grown from our base in Oxfordshire into surrounding counties. We are now supporting schools in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Hampshire, Swindon, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

From Easter we will be supporting our first schools based in London and Bedfordshire. From September we will be able to support schools in the Bristol and Bath area. Please email us for information.
