Decoding the Computing Curriculum

Turn IT On have always provided an integrated technical and curriculum support service. We are able to do this because of our primary school specific experience. Also, around half of our consultants are ex-teachers. We have recently stepped up our curriculum support, by offering schools a catalogue of training events to choose from.

‘Decoding the Computing Curriculum’ is just one of the events we offer. The sessions are devised and delivered by our expert IT teachers.

On Friday Raj Panchal ran a full day workshop for Subject Leaders at Holy Trinity CE Primary School. Eight schools from the local area attended the free session. If you are from one of the schools that attended please feel free to comment below.

The presentation from the session listed many of the resources that were referred to on the day and can be viewed below.

The morning was spent discussing the new attainment targets and sharing ideas. In the afternoon the event moved to Holy Trinity’s fantastic iMac-suite (where Raj also teaches classes at the school). New online resources for introducing computer science aspects of the new curriculum were explored.

We hope that everyone found the session useful and now feel confident to launch some exciting new projects in class. Keep us posted with how you get on. Get in touch if you would like any pointers.

If your school would be interested in hosting one of our sessions, say hello and we will send our events catalogue: hello@turniton.co.uk.
