Get cyber smart for Safer Internet Day

In our 24/7 connected world, e-safety is more important than ever. Pupils must be given the skills and knowledge empowering them to make informed choices about their life.

Safer internet 2015The theme for this year’s Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 12th February is, ‘Let’s create a better internet together’. Schools across the world are marking the day by hosting workshops and debates and using e-safety resources in the classroom to help raise awareness.

The Turn IT On Curriculum Team offer a range of Teaching Expert Sessions to promote e-safety in schools. We work with pupils in lessons, train staff and hold parental sessions that provide ways for parents to support their children at home. Many of our consultants are also undergoing CEOP training. CEOP’s Thinkuknow programme provides a range of free educational resources helping to empower and protect young people from the harm of abuse and exploitation, both online and off.

Get in touch on 01865 597620 if would like us to help you devise ways you could mark Safer Internet Day at your school. Alternatively, come and see some of our Curriculum Team at the Bett Show on stand F130. They will be demonstrating some of their training and you’ll be able to pick their brains about e-safety in school. We look forward to seeing you!
